Temporary Business Permits

These permits are to make sure that Food Trucks have the proper documentation to sell products and goods with in the city limits. All applications must be completed at the latest 72 hours before the business is going to be in town. They must bring in all information provided below, a completed application, and pay for the length of time they are wanting the permit. A background check is done on all applications before approval by the City Clerk.

Required Documentation to Obtain a Permit

  • Kansas State Tax ID
  • Liability insurance for the business
  • Photo ID's for all Employee's working in the truck or trailer
  • State of Kansas Food Vendor License, if applicable

Permit and Application Fees

Local - Resident within City Limits
  • $10 Application Fee
Non-Local - Outside City Limits
  • 3 Day Permit $25 + $10 Application Fee
  • 30 Day Permit $50 + $10 Application Fee
  • 6 Month Permit $250 + $10 Application Fee
  • 1 Year Permit $400 + $10 Application Fee

Special Event Applications

Local Businesses around the Iola Square that wish to hold special events during the licensing year are able to fill out a special event application. You will be allowed by our local Police Department to have 2 parking spots be blocked off with cones. The vender must have a current vendor license. 72 hours must also be given in order to approve this event.

Do to Madison Avenue also being Highway 54 no vendor will be allowed to set up on that particular road through town.
