Iola Parks

The Parks and Cemetery Department is responsible for maintaining the city’s nine public parks.

1. Riverside Park located at 600 S. State St.

Iola's largest park with these amenities: 3 large shelter houses, 2 mini-shelter houses, playground equipment, special needs equipment, skatepark, horseshoe pits, sand volleyball courts, swimming pool, 6 ball fields and a sports stadium. The Prairie Spirit Trail runs on the east side of Riverside Park near the entrance.

2. Meadowbrook Park located at 1024 E. Meadowbrook Rd. -

Amenities include: two practice ball diamonds, a shelter house, a picnic and playground area, pickleball courts featuring 8 courts, and a 9-hole frisbee golf course.

3. Walnut Park located in the residential area of North Walnut St.

Amenities include: a picnic and small playground area.

4. Cofachique Park located at 1016 N. State St. -

Cofachique Park is the endpoint of the Prairie Spirit Trail, which was recently designated as a Kansas State Park. Amenities include: a large shaded picnic area, 2 large shelter houses, 3 mini-shelters, and a playground area.

5. East Iola Park located at the corner of South 4th St. and East Vine St.

Amenities include: a picnic and playground area with a mini-shelter house.

6. Cedarbrook Park located in the residential area of Cedarbrook Road -

Amenities include: a picnic and small playground area.

7. Elm Creek South Nature Park located at South Washington Ave.; access the park from Bassett Street on the south side of Elm Creek -

Amenities include - a picnic and nature area.

8. Elm Creek North Frisbee Golf Park located at 1001 S. Washington Ave. -

Amenities include: a picnic area, mini-shelter house and a 13-hole frisbee golf course.

9. Happy Tails Dog Park located at 706 S. Chestnut St. -  Dog Park Information

Amenities include: two separate fenced areas, accommodating large and small dogs.
