    Boot camp will consist of a combination of weights, cardio and resistance loops. Mondays and Wednesdays will focus on upper body areas, and Tuesdays and Thursdays will focus on lower body areas. Suggested gear: light weights (5 lbs. or less), water bottle and towel. This Morning Class will be instructed by Megan Cole. Monday-Thursday mornings from 5:30-6:00 AM. All classes will be held at the Recreation Building, 500 Park Ave., Riverside Park. 18 years of age and older may participate. Register at the Recreation Office prior to the first class, or with Megan the first day of class. For more information contact the Recreation Office at 620-365-4990.

  2. Open Walking and Senior-Cise Class

    Open Walking Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm, this time of year there are many indoor activities going on and the hours of availability vary each day, at the Recreation Building. For safety reasons, when there are events going on in the gym, walkers are encouraged to walk in the Little Theater. Enjoy climate-controlled walking at your own pace. Closed holidays and special events. Senior-cise Class Monday-Friday mornings, 9:00 am-10:00 am, at the Recreation Building, excluding holidays and special events. Low-impact aerobics class incorporating yoga, cardio, balance and strength training.

    The City of Iola is now accepting applications for the following seasonal positions for summer 2023: Pool Managers, Morning Work Manager, Head Swim Team Instructor, Swim Lesson Coordinator or Ball Field Maintenance Workers: Qualified applicants must be at least 18 years old to apply. Slide Attendants, Assistant Swim Team Instructor, Concession Stand Workers: Qualified applicants must be at least 16 years old to apply. Lifeguards, Umpires or Score Keepers: Qualified applicants must be at least 15 years old to apply. Cashiers or Swim Lesson Instructors: Qualified applicants must be at least 14 years old to apply. Pre-employment drug screen and background check required. Seasonal job application forms and specific job descriptions are available at the Recreation Office. Please submit applications by April 6.   4. Yoga with Sarah Noah

    Low impact group fitness class, using a combination of traditional yoga poses, mobility exercises, core training and breath work. By the end of the session, participants should notice an improvement in mobility and core strength. Students will need a yoga mat for the class, 2 yoga blocks, yoga strap, water and towel are suggested. Sarah Noah will be instructing these classes on Monday and Thursday afternoons from 12:00-1:00 pm. All classes will be held at the Recreation Building, 500 Park Ave., Riverside Park. $35.00 class fee. Give it a try and join us for one class for just $5.00! Ages 18 years of age and older may participate. Register at the Recreation Office prior to the first class, or register with Sarah the first day of class.
