Open Walking Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm, at the Recreation Building. For safety reasons, when there are events going on in the gym, walkers are encouraged to walk in the Little Theater. Enjoy climate-controlled walking at your own pace. Closed holidays and special events. Hours available can vary each day.
Senior-cise Class Monday-Friday mornings, 9:00 am-10:00 am, at the Recreation Building, excluding holidays and special events. Low-impact aerobics class incorporating yoga, cardio, balance and strength training.
Register: at the Recreation Office, 500 Park Ave., Riverside Park; after hours place forms in the drop box located on the southeast side of the Rec Building; mail to P.O. Box 308, Iola; or online by visiting the recreation page at cityofiola.com. Registration must be turned in by August 19 for players to be eligible to participate. Play recreational flag football on age division teams. Flag football is open to all boys and girls 6 years of age on or by October 1st, 2022 or currently enrolled in 1st through 5th grades. Practice days and times will be scheduled by the team coaches. Games will be played on Tuesday evenings at Ball Diamond #3 in Riverside Park, Iola. Games are tentatively scheduled to begin September 20th, the season should conclude toward the end of October. *Players must provide their own mouthpiece. Age Divisions: Must be 6 years old on or by 10/01/22 or Grade currently enrolled in, leagues are co-ed. 6 Yrs. Old-2nd Grade or 3rd-5th Grade.
Low impact group fitness class, using a combination of traditional yoga poses, mobility exercises, core training and breath work. By the end of the session, participants should notice an improvement in mobility and core strength. Students will need a yoga mat for the class; 2 yoga blocks, yoga strap, water and towel are suggested.
Sarah Noah will be instructing these classes on Tuesday and Friday mornings from 8:00-9:00 AM.
All classes will be held at the Recreation Building, 500 Park Ave., Riverside Park.

Ages 18 years of age and older may participate. Register at the Recreation Office prior to the first class, or register with Sarah the first day of class.
