  1. Boot Camp

    Recreation Building - Gym

    Boot camp will consist of a combination of weights, cardio and resistance loops. Mondays and Wednesdays will focus on upper body areas, and Tuesdays and Thursdays will focus on lower body areas. Suggested gear: light weights (5 lbs. or less), water bottle and towel. This Morning Class will be instructed by Megan Cole. Monday-Thursday mornings from 5:30-6:00 AM. All classes will be held at the Recreation Building, 500 Park Ave., Riverside Park. 18 years of age and older may participate. Register at the Recreation Office prior to the first class, or with Megan the first day of class. For more information contact the Recreation Office at 620-365-4990.

  2. Morning Stretch and Strength Class

    Low impact group fitness class, using a combination of traditional yoga poses, mobility exercises, core training and breath work. By the end of the session, participants should notice an improvement in mobility and core strength. Students will need a yoga mat for the class; 2 yoga blocks, yoga strap, water and towel are suggested. Sarah Noah will be instructing these classes on Tuesday and Friday mornings from 8:00-9:00 AM. All classes will be held at the Recreation Building, 500 Park Ave., Riverside Park. $35.00 class fee. Give it a try and join us for one class for just $5.00! Ages 18 years of age and older may participate. Register at the Recreation Office prior to the first class, or register with Sarah the first day of class.   3. Open Walking and Senior-Cise Class

    Open Walking Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm, at the Recreation Building. For safety reasons, when there are events going on in the gym, walkers are encouraged to walk in the Little Theater. Enjoy climate-controlled walking at your own pace. Closed holidays and special events. Hours available can vary each day. Senior-cise Class Monday-Friday mornings, 9:00 am-10:00 am, at the Recreation Building, excluding holidays and special events. Low-impact aerobics class incorporating yoga, cardio, balance and strength training.

  4. Swim Lesson Registration Begins

    Register in person at the Recreation Office, during regular business hours, beginning on or after June 7th. Limited space is available, no registrations will be taken by mail, phone, e-mail or fax. Lessons & times are limited to the number of instructors available & will be filled on a first come first serve basis. Swimmers must be 4-12 years of age by June 15, 2022. Students may only register for two weeks of lessons. Parents must remain outside the fenced in area during lesson times. Lessons will be held unless it is lightning outside at the time of lessons; a decision will be made in a timely manner and will be posted on Facebook on the City of Iola – Recreation page. Public Lessons, $15 per swimmer, June 27-July 1 or July 11-15 at specific times. Private Lessons, $30 per swimmer, June 20-24, June 27-July 1, July 5-8 or July 11-15 at specific times.
