Open Walking Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm, at the Recreation Building. For safety reasons, when there are events going on in the gym, walkers are encouraged to walk in the Little Theater. Enjoy climate-controlled walking at your own pace. Closed holidays and special events. Hours available can vary each day.
Senior-cise Class Monday-Friday mornings, 9:00 am-10:00 am, at the Recreation Building, excluding holidays and special events. Low-impact aerobics class incorporating yoga, cardio, balance and strength training.
This camp is designed to introduce youth basketball players to the game of basketball. The camps primary focus will be fundamentals and basic concepts of team play. Participants will learn proper footwork for both offense and defense, ball handling, passing and shooting form. Campers will have an opportunity to practice their skills while competing in games and contests. July 1, 2022. Boys and girls going into grades 1st-12th may participate. Camp cost is $10.00. 1st-5th grade will meet from 9:00-10:00 am; and 6th-12th grade will meet from 10:30 am-12:00 pm. Recreation Building Gymnasium, 500 Park Ave., Riverside Park, Iola. Register at the Recreation Office by Wednesday, June 29. F.Y.I.: Attendees should wear active clothing such as t-shirts, shorts, etc. (no jeans) & basketball shoes (no black-soled shoes). The Neosho County Community College Women’s Basketball Coaching Staff and Players will provide instruction.
Boot camp will consist of a combination of weights, cardio and resistance loops. Mondays and Wednesdays will focus on upper body areas, and Tuesdays and Thursdays will focus on lower body areas. Suggested gear: light weights (5 lbs. or less), water bottle and towel. This Morning Class will be instructed by Megan Cole. Monday-Thursday mornings from 5:30-6:00 AM. All classes will be held at the Recreation Building, 500 Park Ave., Riverside Park. 18 years of age and older may participate.
