Open Walking Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm, at the Recreation Building. For safety reasons, when there are events going on in the gym, walkers are encouraged to walk in the Little Theater. Enjoy climate-controlled walking at your own pace. Closed holidays and special events. Hours available can vary each day.
Senior-cise Class Monday-Friday mornings, 9:00 am-10:00 am, at the Recreation Building, excluding holidays and special events. Low-impact aerobics class incorporating yoga, cardio, balance and strength training.
A Tennis Camp with emphasis on fundamentals and technique, as well as
drills and tennis games, to ensure a good mixture of learning and fun. The Tennis Camp will be run by Chris Belknap, the Iola High School Boys and Girls Tennis Coach, along with Nathan Fawson, and the I.H.S. Tennis Team Members. Boys and girls who have just finished the current school year in 3rd-8th grade. Iola High School Tennis Courts, East Monroe St., Iola. June 20-24 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm. $20.00 Camp, will include participants receiving one can of tennis balls. FYI: Please bring a tennis racquet and water bottle. Please wear appropriate exercise clothes, proper tennis shoes and wear sunscreen. There are no restrooms available! Boot camp will consist of a combination of weights, cardio and resistance loops. Mondays and Wednesdays will focus on upper body areas, and Tuesdays and Thursdays will focus on lower body areas. Suggested gear: light weights (5 lbs. or less), water bottle and towel. This Morning Class will be instructed by Megan Cole. Monday-Thursday mornings from 5:30-6:00 AM. All classes will be held at the Recreation Building, 500 Park Ave., Riverside Park. 18 years of age and older may participate. The pool opens on Monday, May 30 at 1:00 PM. Adult swim hours begin on May 31st. Full Season Passes available for purchase at the Rec. Office May 9-July 1. Passes will not be sold at the pool. Individual Pass (Ages 6-54) $65.00; Individual Pass (Ages 55-64) $55.00; Family Pass $140.00 for 4 members, additional $20.00 per member after 4, for immediate family members only. Discount Admission Tickets available for purchase at the Rec. Office through August 5. Tickets will not be sold at the pool. 10 Tickets for $15.00. Daily Door Admission: Ages 5 & Under, Free, must be accompanied by an adult. Ages 65 & Older, Free. Open Swim, Ages 6-64, $2.00. Night Swim, Ages 6-64, $1.00. Pool Hours: Adult Swim – Mon.-Fri. 12:00-1:00 PM; Mon.-Thur. 5:30-6:30 PM. Open Swim – Sun. 1:00-6:00 PM; Mon.-Thur. 1:00-5:30 PM; Fri. & Sat. 1:00-7:00 PM. Night Swim – Mon.-Thur. 6:30-8:00 PM.
